Hello! Tell us about yourself and how you created Hopcraft & Co.! 

Hello everyone, I'm Amanda Hopcraft owner of Hopcraft & Co. and Amanda Hopcraft Makeup Artist! I started Amanda Hopcraft Makeup Artist almost 11 years ago, it was my part-time passion while I was navigating my way through different careers. In 2011 I became "official" and started booking weddings full time, during that time I also started bringing on more team members and offering a variety of other services. In 2016 we re-branded ourselves and changed the name to Hopcraft & Co. We wanted to have a name that embraced the entire team and let brides know we offered more than just makeup. Hopcraft & Co offers everything from prep services, facials, nails & spray tans on location, & day of hair and make up. We also just opened a brand new studio in St. Augustine where we provide beauty services for every day gals and Brides alike!

When should a Bride inquire for make up services? 

We recommend 8-12 months in advance, good artists book quickly and its not uncommon for us to be booked as much as 16 months in advance. 

What can Brides expect during a trial? Any advice for what she should bring along with her? 

We encourage them to bring Pinterest inspiration, their veil, & any hair pieces or accessories they intend to wear with them to their trial. We also love to see photos of the bride where she feels the prettiest, it helps us know what she likes most on herself. During your trial we'll talk about your overall vision, look at photos and formulate a game plan. Then it's time for the fun stuff, we try out different hair and makeup looks and decided on what we'll do for the big day. We then take photos of the final look and make sure we record as many details as possible!

Do you work on location? If so, what areas do you serve? 

All of our day of services are performed on location and we have passports and will travel where brides need us!

What are the current trends and colors for weddings this season? 

I'm seeing a really big focus on skin, light foundation, dewy complexions and subtle contouring.

Do you use a particular brand or brands of make up product?

I love a lot of different products from Tarte, Stila, Urban Decay and Becca just to name a few!

What if a Bride has a large Bridal party? Will another artist at Hopcraft & Co. be appointed?

That's the beauty of hiring a team! We are able to handle a party of any size. With a team of 6 experts we can appoint as many service providers as your party needs!

What advice do you have for Brides when searching for the perfect make up artist for their big day?

Go with your gut, if you love an artist, book them, you'll regret it if you dont. The perfect makeup artist can make or break your look, you've spent the time and money on an amazing photographer and the perfect dress, makeup is just as important!
