When to shop for your wedding dress...

Not sure when the ideal time is to find a dress? Let us give you some helpful hints…

To start off, shopping TOO early can cause problems down the road. You are probably asking yourself, “How early is TOO early?” TWM suggests that the perfect time for dress shopping is about 9-12 months prior to your wedding date. Anxious brides who want to get started even earlier, that is great! We would advise that the earliest time to start shopping would be 18 months out (a year and a half). If you start any sooner than that, you have to be careful because:

a)    Your style may change
b)   Your wedding inspiration may change
c)    There could be dress discontinuations
d)   Your wedding date may change
e)    Dress regrets

On the other hand, please keep in mind, shopping TOO late can cause even MORE problems!! Allow yourself at least 5 months for the dress to come in, and 3 months for alterations (at least). Upon purchasing a dress, TWM Stylists provide brides with an ‘estimated delivery date’ to give you an idea of when the dress will arrive. Brides need to take note that there could be designer factory slowdowns, stalled deliveries due to weather, etc. Shopping 9-12 months prior to your wedding date allows for extra flextime so that we can assure you will be stress free.

Questions? Please feel free to ask! We love to help! We want to make sure that your dress-shopping journey is an experience you will never forget (in a good way, of course)!
