Dress shopping tips & tricks

Dear {TWM} Bride,

Not sure what to expect when dress shopping? Here is an insider’s peek on tips and tricks to help this important day be a little less stressful!

Before your appointment time, it is ALWAYS helpful to do some research… Pinterest, online shopping and browsing other {bigger} shops before coming to The White Magnolia will not only help you understand your personal style, but also help the consultant envision your dreams. With that being said, also keep an open mind. As it is important to get an idea of what you want, don’t be opposed to trying on different styles. This helps because it can either a) solidify that what you originally wanted still remains true, or b) open your eyes to how great your body looks in a particular style dress.

Make sure to only bring the important people. Many brides choose to bring all bridesmaids, all family members, etc. You may think this is a great idea initially, but as your appointment progresses; opinions are thrown at the bride left and right, which may lead to an overwhelming situation. TWM’s best advice: always bring your mom {or a mother figure} and sisters or a close friend. Besides, don’t you want your dress to be a surprise to most of your guests?! That’s the fun part!

Lastly, don’t overthink it. Finding your dream dress is important, but who knows, you may have a few dream dresses {in the world}, you just don’t have enough time {years} to try all of them on! Don’t fight the moment – as you are looking in the mirror and feeling like the most beautiful woman in the world – know that you found your dress. Don’t think beyond that moment. Don’t ask yourself “what if”. Remember that not every bride will fall into tears, in fact, most brides don’t! So wait for your moment, not the expectation of what that moment should be.

Xo,

TWM
